Turkic integration is progressing in several directions. For the Central Asian states, it is primarily cultural-economic. For Azerbaijan, it is military-political. And when Ilham Aliyev speaks about cooperation among Turkic states and the need to strengthen the army in order to protect sovereignty, the question arises: protect it — from whom? From Russia? From Iran?
